Throughout your journey, you will become familiar with the Sherpa culture. Famous for their climbing and mountaineering feats, Sherpas are equally fascinating for their awesome hospitality. They came to the area hundreds of years ago from the Tibetan Plateau, and most are devout followers of Tibetan Buddhism. Their numerous monasteries, chortens, mani walls, etc. add much character and charm to the trail.

Begin the trek from Lukla after a bumpy journey from Kathmandu. Hike up to Namche Bazaar, a legendary meeting point for trekkers to prepare for, and discuss, their adventures in the mountains. The streets are lined with cafes, bakeries, and trekking shops. Head further up through high alpine forests. These forests are home to the Himalayan tahr, Himalayan Black Bear, and more!

After days of hiking through the tantalizing Everest region scenery, we find ourselves at Everest Base Camp (5364 meters), and still the best is yet to come. First, take some photos and enjoy this lovely place. The following day, we make it to Kala Patthar (5545 meters), which has one of the absolute best views of Mount Everest, as well as many other stunning peaks, in the world. Then, descend back to Lukla and celebrate the end of an incredible trek!

Be aware of the climate of Nepal, though. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best seasons for clear weather and mountain views. Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel.

    Upon arrival to Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Daewoo Travels & Tours will welcome you at the airport and take you to your hotel. In the evening, we brief you on the upcoming trek. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu valley.

    After breakfast at the hotel, we take you on a sightseeing tour around Kathmandu including some the UNESCO World Heritage sites (Boudhanath, Swayambunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Pashupatinath). Spend the rest of the day preparing for your upcoming trek and exploring the city. Overnight in hotel.

  • Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2840 Meters) and trek to Phakding.

    Take the infamous flights to Lukla in the morning with precious views on the Everest region on the way. The plane lands and we disembark, stoked for the trail ahead. Passawesome Sherpa villages, agricultural fields, and Tibetan Buddhist shrines until mountain views pop until view near Phakding. KusumKanguru is the most notable of the bunch. Then, reach Phakding. Overnight in a guest house.

  • Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 Meters) about 5 hours.

    Afterbreakfast, we head toward Namche Bazaar. The trail takes us across several suspension bridges, as we have supreme views of Thamserku. Trekking along the DudhKoshi River bank, we reach Monjoand check into Sagarmatha National Park. Keep going along the river bank, which soon rises in altitude. We arrive to the highest suspension bridge of the Everest region, and again trek up and onward. Just before we reach Namche Bazaar, we get our first view of Mt. Everest. Overnight in a guest house.

  • Day 05: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar.

    Today is our first day of acclimatization – letting our bodies get used to the change in altitude. The thin air can cause some problems, especially as we move further up. We can make a short day hike up to Sagarmatha National Park Museum and Khumjung Village. From the museum, there is a crisp view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, AmaDablam, and more rugged peaks. Afterwards, explore around Namche Bazaar, the major trade and tourism center in the Khumbu region, populated by Sherpa people as well as trekkers, preparing for and celebration their Everest treks. Overnight in guest house.

  • Day 06: Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860 meters) about 5 hours.

    Take breakfast and head to the trail. Soon, we again pass the Sagarmatha National Park Museum and Khumjung village. Enjoy the marvelous view one last time. After PhungiThanga, we reach a junction where we hike up the inclined trail towards Everest Base Camp. Forests of pine and rhododendron surround us and give us a breath of fresh air. After a few more hours, we arrive to Tengboche. The sun setting on Mt. Everest from this charming village is a most memorable moment. Overnight at guest house.

  • Day 07: Trek to Dingboche (4410 meters) about 6 hours.

    An exciting day on the Everest Base Camp Trek lies ahead. Proceeding past the tree line, a rugged, rocky landscape surrounds us. Before that, enjoy views of Everest, Lhotse, and AmaDablamappearing through the trees. Cross the Imja River to reachPangboche. Have a rest, lunch, or tea before continuing further through the Imja Valley and ascending to Dingboche. Despite the high altitude, the villagerscultivate lush fields of potato, barley, and buckwheat. Overnight at guest house.

  • Day 08: Rest and acclimatization day in Dingboche.

    Take another day to acclimatize and let our bodies adjust to the change in elevation. It is recommended to climb high and sleep low. So, wemove up the barren Chhukung Valley. Revel in the amazing mountain views throughout the day. The valley is enveloped by the Himalayas. It’s a strenuous journey, but well worth it. Afterwards, have lunch and wander around Dingboche. Overnight at guest house.

  • Day 09: Trek to Lobuche (4910 meters) about 5 hours.

    The distance from Dingboche to Lobuche is not far, but it takes longer because of the high altitude. The trail is nice and flat for a while until Thukla, where we stop for lunch or a snack. Then, the trail goes steeply up to the Everest Memorials, which honors those who have lost their lives during Everest summit expeditions. Make a final ascent to Lobuche on the relatively flat trail. The sunset view from here is extraordinary! Overnight at guest house.

  • Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5364 meters) via Gorakshep (5140m).

    Let your dreams come to life today! Eat an early breakfast and start trekking on the rugged trail towards Gorakshep. We leave our bags at the guest house in Gorakshep and hike up to Everest Base Camp with our day pack. It’s a steep and rocky trail. We soon arrive to base camp, which is situated on the Khumbu Glacier. From here, you cannot see Everest, but you can see the Khumbu Icefall, Mt. Khumbutse and Pumori. Snap some photographs, enjoy the valuable moments, and descend back to Gorakshep. Overnight in guest house.

  • Day 11: Early morning hike up to Kalapatthar (5550 meters) then trek down to Pheriche.

    We have consecutive highlights on the Everest Base Camp Trek. Today, we climb up to Kala Patthar – one of the best views in the Everest region. Treat your eyes to a magnificent view of Mount Everest and several more of the highest peaks in the world. Then, hike back to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue down to Pheriche. Overnightin guest house.

  • Day 12: Trek to Namche (3440 meters) About 6 hours.

    Eat breakfast and further descend to Namche Bazaar. Much of the day, we retrace our steps along the same trail that brought us here. It is a mostly downhill trail, except for one quick climb up to Tengboche. If you have interest, take some moments to revisit the Tengboche Monastery. Continue the soft trail to Namche Bazaar. Celebrate a memorable trek in the evening! Overnight in guest house.

  • Day 13: Trek to Lukla (2840 meters) About 6 hours.

    Take breakfast and trek down towards Lukla. Savor the final views of Mt. Everest, and wish it farewell. Throughout the day, we cross six suspension bridges and pass several Sherpa villages before arriving in Lukla. After traversing the highest of the bridges, we walk for another 3 hours to Phakdingand stop for lunch. We get toLukla after about 2.5 hours of walking after Phakding. Time to have a great last night of the Himalayas! Overnight in guest house.

  • Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla.

    Have breakfast and walk to Tenzing-Hillary airport, saying farewell to the mountains on the way. Fly back to Kathmandu in the morning, enjoying the scene during the flight. Arriving to Kathmandu in the morning, so spend the rest of the day as you please. Overnight in hotel.

  • Day 15: Relax and Leisure Day in Kathmandu.

    Spend the day relaxing and letting yourself enjoy the parts of Kathmandu that you missed out on before the trek. Spend some time and shopping for some souvenirs as well. Overnight in hotel.

  • Day 16: Departure from Nepal.

    We take you to Tribhuvan International Airport about 3 hours before your international flight. We hope you enjoyed your time with Daewoo Travels & Tours, and see you next time!
