Mount Kailash Tour

  • 18 Days - 17 nights

Join us on a trip to the center of the Universe, Mount Kailash in Tibet, this according to Bon mythology. Standing at 6638m, Mt. Kailash forms the Trans-Himalaya southwest of Tibet. This holy abode of Lord Shiva is flocked by many as a pilgrimage with devotees performing Kora of the mountain along a circuit stretching 52km around the peak. It is renowned as mythical Mount Meru, which is considered to be a cosmic mountain exactly at the center of our Universe. This tour embraces the spiritual and natural aspects of two beautiful places on earth, Nepal-Tibet, and brings you on a journey of a lifetime.

We start our tour sightseeing Kathmandu valley followed by a trip to Simikot-district headquarter of Humla. It is one of the most remote and poorest regions in Nepal and home to around sixty thousand with the northern part predominantly Tibetan Buddhist. The beauty of this barren land and detached lifestyle of people will strike you as a stark contrast to our usual lives. The Tibetan influence starts to take over as we head further north crossing gompas and monasteries. Immerse in the spiritual ambiance as you trek through Humla and arrive in Tibet. The vast landscape with sparse vegetation is visible from the Nara La pass, one of the highest points of this tour. Darchen, out next stop, sits in the laps of Mt. Kailash and is past the holy lake of Mansarovar. Our Kora begins with a trek to Dirapuk and crossing the Dolma-la pass before arriving at Zutulpuk and completing the circuit heading back to Darchen. A trip to Mansarovar and Chui Gompa follows as we make our way back to Nepal via Zangmu. Throughout the trip, an experienced team of porters and guides will assist you to make this a memorable tour.May to October is the best time to take up the Mount Kailash tour.
